Health & Safety
Keeping scholars healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Health Services
Staffed during school hours at both campuses for illness, injury, and routine health needs.
Minnesota law requires proof of immunization or a legal exemption for enrollment.
Medication must be delivered by a parent or guardian with written authorization on file.
Scholars with fever, vomiting, or a contagious illness should remain home until symptom-free.
Safety & Emergency Procedures
Higher Ground Academy conducts required fire, severe weather, and lockdown drills each school year. Emergency procedures are reviewed with staff and scholars, and families are notified of any emergency affecting the school day.
In an emergency, official updates are posted to the school website and sent through the family notification system.
Wellness Policy
Healthy eating, daily movement, and wellness support for every student.
Higher Ground Academy's Local Wellness Plan supports healthy eating, daily physical activity, and equitable access to wellness for every student and staff member. Guided by our School Wellness Committee, it shapes school meals, water access, recess, nutrition education, and safe routes to school.
Emergency Notifications
Make sure your contact information is current in the Parent Portal so you receive school closure and emergency messages.
