Health Services

Health Office

Staffed during school hours at both campuses for illness, injury, and routine health needs.

Immunizations

Minnesota law requires proof of immunization or a legal exemption for enrollment.

Medication at School

Medication must be delivered by a parent or guardian with written authorization on file.

When to Stay Home

Scholars with fever, vomiting, or a contagious illness should remain home until symptom-free.

Safety & Emergency Procedures

Higher Ground Academy conducts required fire, severe weather, and lockdown drills each school year. Emergency procedures are reviewed with staff and scholars, and families are notified of any emergency affecting the school day.

In an emergency, official updates are posted to the school website and sent through the family notification system.

Wellness Policy

Healthy eating, daily movement, and wellness support for every student.

Higher Ground Academy's Local Wellness Plan supports healthy eating, daily physical activity, and equitable access to wellness for every student and staff member. Guided by our School Wellness Committee, it shapes school meals, water access, recess, nutrition education, and safe routes to school.
